Your headlights’ lenses may become dull with time, reducing the headlights’ brightness at night. Fortunately, our team at Labrum Ford in Heber City, UT has prepared DIY tips to help you restore your headlights.
For this exercise, you will need a flannel polishing cloth, wet and dry sandpaper, masking tape, plastic polish, and latex gloves. Use warm soapy water to wash the headlight and rinse it with clear water.
Allow it to dry, then mask the area around the lens. This helps to prevent scratching the paint. Soak the sandpaper in water and sand in one direction. Rinse the headlight and sand in a different direction.
Wash the headlight with clear water and allow it to dry. Apply the polishing compound on one corner of the flannel polishing cloth and polish the headlight in a circular pattern. Give the polish time to dry, then buff off the polish residue using the clean end of the polishing cloth. Repeat polishing the headlight until it's clear.
